Eddy Plant, RFT, brings over 20 years of experience in operational forestry, planning, supervision, and project management. As the owner of Molly Creek Forestry since 2017, Eddy works closely with First Nations, forest licensees, utilities, and private landowners to plan, develop, and implement projects throughout northwestern British Columbia. Eddy began working in forestry at the age of 17 as an assistant timber cruiser and has been involved in the industry in various roles ever since. His operational and planning background provides a strong understanding of both forest and non-forest values, as well as the regulatory framework that governs forestry and land management in the province. Eddy moved to Terrace in 2013 from the Kootenays to pursue both a career and a lifestyle rooted in the outdoors. He values clear communication with stakeholders and focuses on delivering practical solutions that meet client budgets, timelines, and objectives. Through Molly Creek Forestry, Eddy strives to build a team environment that emphasizes interesting work and makes the most of each staff member’s strengths and skill sets. Patrick Fergusonis a Registered Professional Forester with 10 years of experience practicing professional forestry across British Columbia. His introduction to the industry began during his undergraduate degree in Geography and Geomatics, when he started tree planting during the summer. After several seasons of tree planting and brushing, Patrick moved on to wildfire suppression with the BC Wildfire Service, working on fires across the province with a variety of crews. Between field seasons he also worked as a heavy equipment operator at mines and cat-skiing operations. Following several years of seasonal field work, Patrick completed a Professional Master’s degree in Forestry at the University of British Columbia to meet the education requirements for his RPF designation. Since then, he has worked for major forest licensees, the provincial government within the Ministry of Forests, and as a consultant. Patrick has been collaborating with Molly Creek Forestry since 2021. Currently, much of Patrick’s work focuses on developing a cultural burning program with the Gitxsan, implementing wildlife habitat restoration treatments, and supporting small-scale forestry operators—including woodlots and private landowners—with land management planning and regulatory requirements. Cultural and prescribed fire remain a central focus of his work, and he is particularly interested in the complex relationships between fire, ecosystems, and communities in the context of a changing climate.

Morgon has been with Molly Creek Forestry for two years and brings a strong background in wildfire management and forest ecology. He graduated with honours from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) with a major in Forest Ecology and Lands Management and a minor in Biology and Conservation. Before joining MCF, Morgon spent six seasons as a wildland firefighter, gaining extensive operational and leadership experience, including time as a crew leader. At MCF, Morgon serves as our wildfire specialist and as a crew leader during layout operations. His experience includes implementing fuel reduction treatments, developing Community Wildfire Resilience Plans, and completing wildfire threat analysis reports. In addition to his wildfire expertise, Morgon has broadened his forestry skillset through project layout, road layout and traversing, danger tree assessment, and small-scale licence management.
